Alaska 2014
When two of our closest friends decided to get married, and we were told that it was going to be a destination wedding to Alaska on the Disneyland Cruise Line, we essentially told them - Say less! There was no way that we were going to miss this wedding and this opportunity to visit the 49th state for the first time.
This would be our first major trip together, and it began with a trip to Vancouver, Canada to catch the Disney Wonder. We arrived the day before the sailing, and did exploring of Vancouver and spent some time playing Cards Against Humanity (a popular card game at the time) with Cindy and Jahan - the Bride and Groom.
After checking into our hotel we made our way to some of the local tourist spots including the Gastown section of Vancouver, and the site of the recent Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies. Fun fact - this beautiful location was used in the filming of the beginning and end of one of my favorite childhood movies - The Never Ending Story. We had dinner at a local restaurant that served several different versions of poutine - another first for us.
